Maintains and reconciles clinical trial accounts according to the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) standard operating procedures, accounting principles and University guidelines. Prepares and analyzes financial information; produces trial status reports and financial statements based upon operating data analysis.
•Prepares real-time financial snapshots of each clinical trial account by performing monthly reconciliation and reporting results toCTOmanagement.
•Streamlines clinical trial budget development, preliminary account setup, invoicing, study close-out, and other processes.
•Utilizes financial information in PeopleSoft to update internal runsheets and prepares monthly financial reports.
•Performs Internal Financial Review for all uTRAC applications managed by theCTO.
•Prepares, submits and guides the electronic journal entry billing submissions for allCTOservice lines.
•Reviews coordinator effort report preparation, updatesCTObilling database and reviews all client and sponsor invoices.
•Reviews billing processes and analyzes billing error trends; reports on findings and issues recommendations for improvement.
•Performs other related accounting duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus one year related experience or equivalency required. A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Access databases may be preferred in some areas.

Familiarity with University of Utah systems, projects, chartfields and accounting processes preferred.
