Job Summary

Delivering high quality, customer-focused service through the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library’s Access Services departments (Public Services and Interlibrary Loans).


Provides quality service to the patrons of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library, as well as other libraries throughout the United States. Primary public services duties include welcoming patrons, assisting patrons with print and electronic resources, answering in-person, phone, chat or email questions, assisting with software applications, checking out materials, and performing other transactions using the library’s software systems. Primary interlibrary loan (ILL) duties include database and online catalog searching, the utilization of specialized software, scanning and processing of requests, and assisting patrons withILLsign-up. Assists with in-house checking of materials, catalog holdings verification, statistics gathering, and special projects. Participate in implementing social media marketing on behalf of the library. Refers patrons to other library services and campus resources as needed. Assumes additional duties and responsibilities during evening and weekend hours when other library staff members are not present. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Six months clerical or customer service experience required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks. Fluency in the English language
