Job Summary

Assists students in specific program areas regarding academic policy and procedure which aids students in making decisions regarding financial aid opportunity, graduation requirements, department requirements, general university information, and manages students’ university records in a specific academic area by performing clerical activities to maintain students’ files.

Responsibilities

  1. Data entry, filing, and interaction with students, campus agencies, and the general public concerning registration, records maintenance, transcripts, and graduation.
  2. Assists students and the university community with registration/graduation issues, resolves concerns, and provides registration/graduation information.
  3. Records, monitors, and verifies required data and information into student database and information systems.
  4. Ensures compliance with university/office policies and procedures, and federal regulations to maintain the accuracy and integrity of academic records.
  5. Processes degree applications for prospective graduates and notifies candidates of deficiencies of completion of requirements by clearing students for graduation.
  6. Generates reports and statistics and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of general office experience, one of which in an academic setting; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. College coursework in a related area is preferred.

Preferences

  • Data entry experience or related equivalency, proficiency in the use of computer equipment and programs.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred.
