The Division of Neonatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Neonatologist. The Neonatologist will participate in the clinical care for neonatology patients, including night call and weekend responsibilities. Clinical activities will be carried out at each of the Division’s three LevelIII/IV Newborn Intensive Care Units (University Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center). Active clinical programs includeECMO, whole body hypothermia, NeuroNICU, perioperative care and all aspects of neonatal critical care.

The Neonatologist will also be expected to pursue scholarly research, including individual or collaborative research, grant development and written/oral presentations of research with mentoring support. The Division is a member of the Neonatal Research Network. Numerous opportunities for collaborative research exist within the Division as well as throughout the medical school and University. Bench, clinical and/or quality/value improvement areas of investigation are strongly encouraged. In addition to clinical service and scholarly research, there is an expectation for academic work, including education, administration/service, as well as advocacy.

Qualified candidates must be Board Qualified/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and must possess the required skills to conduct research activities. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
