The University of Utah, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking an Academic Hepatologist board certified in Internal Medicine and Hepatology to be part of an established and growing Transplant Hepatology program. We are seeking an additional transplant hepatologist to join our team, which is composed of 3 experienced abdominal transplant surgeons, 5 transplant coordinators, 2 physician assistants, and 3 transplant pharmacists in addition to our transplant hepatologists.
As a leader in the region, our program has performed over 400 liver transplants – with over 40 in this last year. The University of Utah Health is seeking to strengthen our program and transform it into a Center of Excellence.
The position is full-time Hepatology and liver transplant, with limited outpatient endoscopy. Main responsibilities will include outpatient and inpatient clinical care, including inpatient service on rotating basis with the other hepatologists. Academic responsibilities may include working directly with the Gastroenterology fellows and medical house staff, participating in weekly educational conferences, and engagement in clinical or basic science research. Faculty members of the Division hold academic appointments at the University of Utah Medical Center and may hold appointments at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Huntsman Cancer Institute.
