The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting for a Pediatric Intensivist. Clinical responsibilities will center on the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ( PICU ) at Utah Valley Hospital in conjunction with Primary Children’s Hospital ( PCH ). Clinical time will primarily be spent in the PICU at Utah Valley Hospital with additional time in the PICU at PCH . In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work, including education, investigation, administration/service, as well as advocacy.
The PICU at Utah Valley Hospital is a 6-bed unit and the PICU at PCH is a 28-bed unit. There are over 2,000 PICU admissions annually. The units are staffed with board certified critical care pediatricians. The clinical services provided span all modalities of life-sustaining therapy, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and support, post-operative cardiac and neurosurgical care, trauma management, continuous renal replacement therapy and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
Qualified candidates must be Board Qualified/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. To work in the CICU , the Intensivist must have special training in cardiac intensive care or pediatric cardiology. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
