This position is charged with creating and implementing global online marketing strategies through social media accounts in order to create and maintain a robust online presence for the University of Utah Asia Campus. The social media specialist will develop original and creative content to enhance the UAC brand and attract potential students worldwide. The social media specialist will supervise social media interns and oversee all development programs within this area. This position will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Marketing and contribute to student satisfaction with their collegiate experience by building a sense of campus community.
This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the work site if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.
•Develop and maintain a global marketing strategy for the Utah Asia Campus ( UAC ).
•Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms and the UAC website
•Plan and execute a result-driven social media strategy to enhance brand awareness.
•Attend UAC events and produce social media content.
•Assist in the creating and editing of written and visual marketing contents (video and photo).
•Create and maintain a unified brand voice across all social media channels and platforms.
•Collaborate with the Salt Lake Campus Marketing and Communication team to create content based on a wholistic social media calendar.
•Monitor social media channels for trends.
•Identify appropriate social media platforms to further global brand awareness and outreach.
•Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
•Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
•Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.
•Serve as the main point of contact for online media at the UAC .
•Supervise the social media student interns and provide ongoing support for their leadership development.
•Remain knowledgeable of all programs offered at the UAC .
•Be familiar with services and programs on the SLC campus and respond or refer appropriately to online inquiries.
•Maintain familiarity with University student information systems and learning management systems to access student information to provide assistance as required.
•Work as a collaborative team member to provide seamless service to all students.
•Promote student involvement by creating and maintaining dynamic and up-to-date content to the website, social media, and other methods.
•Other duties as assigned by the AD and the CAO .
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, related field or equivalency; three years relevant experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills also required.
Expertise with local media markets and knowledge of statewide, regional and national media preferred. Five years experience as a public relations practitioner or related field may be preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
•1-3 years of experience with B2C social media marketing or content development
•Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr)
•Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
•Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
•Experience with photography or videography a plus
