Job Summary

Eccles IT Group Webmaster

The University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, founded in 1917 and educating more than 6,000 students annually, offers eight undergraduate majors, four MBAs, seven other graduate programs, a Ph.D. in seven areas and executive education curricula. Responsibilities

Looking for a talented and motivated WordPress Webmaster to join our team. The Eccles IT Group provides support to all departments and centers within the David Eccles School of Business. In this role, you will ensure that our websites are performing at the highest level, which may require analysis and revision of existing plugins, forms, and/or design attributes, when needed. You will communicate regularly with our in-house marketing and IT teams. Daily duties include deploying web sites, microsites, updating & testing plugins. The Webmaster is also responsible for planning and executing theme design; maintaining and upgrading sites; and performance optimization of hosting environment.

•Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to clearly articulate and present website-related processes, procedures and updates

•Must have solid organizational skills and willingness to think “outside the box” when presenting ideas/concepts

•Will follow best practices for coding technique(s)

•Will work in a fast-paced environment and interact well with our Marketing & IT teams

•Will test, debug and fix existing code as needed

•Must be comfortable working with front end: HTML5, CSS3, UI and JavaScript (jQuery)

•Must have solidPHP5, MySQL,JSON,AJAXand Web Services experience

•Must have a working knowledge ofHTML/CSS, WordPress, Linux, andSQL.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency and 2-4 years of experience. Must have a working knowledge ofHTML, JavaScript, andSQL.

Preferences

•At least 3 years of professional experience as a WordPress/PHPdeveloper

•Expert level experience with WordPress installation, administration, and customization

•Familiar with versioning control systems, specifically Git

•Experience with cross-browser, platform and device testing

•Experience with responsive website design

•Knowledge of basic Linux server administration, CentOs

•Experience with MicrosoftIISuse and administration

•Experience with Google Analytics Platform / Webmaster Tools

•Strong problem-solving skills

•Experience working with third-party APIs

•Forward-thinking approach to website design/technology – remain up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies

•Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus

•Familiarity with Qualtrics & Salesforces a plus
