Job Summary

Students who participate as a Career Ambassador will:

• Acquire strong professional development skills including, resume writing, job/internship searching, graduate school preparedness, interviewing, and career exploration

• Engage in career preparedness, peer mentoring, event management and leadership opportunities, that support academic, career and personal growth

• Network with employers, alumni, and academic partners to help build and maintain connections for future professional opportunities

Position Summary:

This description outlines the position of the Career Services Ambassador, functioning as part of the Career Services Office. The Career Services Ambassador is a liaison between Career Services and students, alumni, academic partners and employers. This position works to achieve five core objectives:

1. Uphold the mission and vision of Career Services

2. Advocate for and increase awareness of the Career Services office

3. Engage in outreach to university students, prospective students, alumni, academic partners, and employers

4. Assist with on-campus career related event

5. Collaborate with Career Services and give student feedback


● Advise students on career exploration and professional decision making (i.e. providing feedback on job and internship searching, resumes, cover letters, interview tips, etc.) during Quick Help appointments

● Serve as first point of contact for students with Career Services by managing front desk responsibilities

● Complete regular office-wide projects in order to support Career Services strategic plan

● Collaborate and build relationships with employers by assisting them with on campus interviews and recruitment efforts

● Oversee campus outreach to students, by presenting, implementing marketing strategies, managing social media and disseminating of educational resources

● Assess and evaluate outreach efforts by developing measurable goals for the school year

● Plan and implement a variety of Career Services presentations for campus departments and student groups

● Plan and execute Career Services Ambassadors signature events (Leadership Luncheon, Suit Up, etc.)

● Develop new professional development career events to improve the Ambassador program

● Play an integral role by assisting with on-campus career related events (i.e. Career Fairs, Graduate Fair, employer panels, tabling, etc.)

● Attend weekly meetings with the Career Services Ambassador Team at a timeTBD

● Attend Career Services committee meetings (i.e. marketing, assessment, etc)

● Collaborate with on-campus student groups and departments

● Other duties as assigned
