Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated students to work up to 19 hours/week in the University Support Services group within the University Information Technology department. Opportunities include IT project coordination, quality assurance testing, test automation scripting/development and quality process engineering/development.

Students at this level will do their work under the direction of more experiencedUIT-USSstaff members. This position provides IT Quality Assurance support to the general university community for mission critical application services.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will work on various technical activities such as troubleshooting issues, writing test plans and developing test scripts, creating, maintaining and running automated tests on various University systems and applications, coordinating project work, developing and maintain documentation for various IT processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must be a current University of Utah student and possess basic computer skills, excellent written and verbal communications, superior customer service skills, and have a high level of interest and initiative in learning new technologies.

Preferences

Successful candidate should have a positive attitude and focus on solving issues. Preference will be given to students with some technical coursework and/or experience with scripting/programming.

A plus is any knowledge of or experience withPTF(PeopleSoft Testing Framework), Oracle, Selenium, Ruby/Watir,SQLand/or other programming languages such as Java, C orHTML.
