Job Summary

The Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine (Department ofOBGYN) is looking for an Ultrasonographer to be part of our exceptional care team and help people fulfill their hopes of having families. This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, specifically limited follicular scans for reproductive endocrinology and infertility patients.

The ideal candidate will be familiar AIUM’s practice guidelines for ultrasonography in reproductive medicine and will be able to facilitate the efficient delivery of patient care, support the licensed staff & work under the direction of the nurses & physicians in rendering care to patients.

Responsibilities

In conjunction with the care team this position:

1. Performs ultrasound exams

2. Ensures the appropriate exam is performed based on physicians’ orders and patient history

3. Enters patient demographics into database to provide tracking of images

4. Delineates anatomy, disease process or pathological conditions in the patient population that they are working with

5. May interpret ultrasound findings and tailors additional images based on the most likely diagnosis

6. Provides accurate and consistent patient education and explanation of exam

7. Keeps patient logs and billing updated

8. Ensures operation of equipment and coordinates equipment maintenance

9. Assists with training of residents, fellows and other personnel rotating through labs

10. May assist physician with invasive procedures

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an ultrasound technologist program. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is preferred. Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card through American Heart Association or obtain within one month of hire.

*Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Preferences

Preference will be given to candidates that have Certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Experience with limited follicular scan and familiarity with Ultrasonography in reproductive medicine and infertility populations is preferred.
