Works on the ColoCare study, a patient cohort of colorectal cancer patients: https://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/research/labs/population-sciences/ulrich/colocare-study.php. Prepares, verifies and enters data into computerized information systems. Contacts study patients to conduct phone-based interviews. Assists in miscellaneous office duties and research activities. Potential for an individual research project.
No previous experience necessary; interest and willingness to learn is mandatory. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
This position is ideal for an undergraduate / graduate student interested in health-care or research/science as a career. There is potential for a research project within the ColoCare study based on interest and ability (http://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/research/labs/population-sciences/ulrich/colocare-study.php).
1.Enters information into computerized information systems (e.g., Teleform) and reviews input against source documents for accuracy and edits as needed.
2.Runs queries and reports.
3.Reviews completed patient questionnaires for quality, accuracy and completeness and ensure correct data is entered into study database
4.Potentially contacts study patients to conduct questionnaire interviews over the phone.
5.Prepares and mails research participant packets for recruitment and follow-up.
6.Assists with miscellaneous office duties, such as ordering materials, organizing patient charts, etc.
7.Participates in regular study team meetings.
8.Participates in other study related tasks as required.
Previous data entry experience. Previous patient/customer contact.
