Job Summary

We study human neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy using human induced pluripotent stem cells. We invite applications from qualified individuals to fill a research assistant/analyst position available in our laboratory at this point. RA will experiment with human stem cells using different cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, electrophysiology, and microscopy techniques, and perform lab management and organization tasks. The successful candidate is expected to have experience working with cultured cells, antibody,DNAandRNA, and be very meticulous and organized.


• Maintain, characterize, and differentiate human induced pluripotent stem cells

• Conduct animal surgeries and dissection of neurons and astrocyes

• Perform basic molecular biology and biochemistry experiments

• Maintain databases of cell lines, antibodies, and chemicals

• Report results to the group

• Prepare solutions and reagents

• Keep the lab clean and organized

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.


• MS in Biology or Biomedical Sciences

• General understanding of principles in cellular and molecular biology

• Ability to communicate scientific concepts both verbally and in writing

• Ability to work with rodents (colony management and surgeries).

• Computer literacy and experience with Word and Excel

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong attention to details

• Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
