Job Summary

The Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute at the University of Utah invites applications for one post-doctoral researcher for interdisciplinary work computer science, data science, and applied computational geometry. The candidate selected will contribute to the Institute’s world-class research and software development efforts and have the opportunity to develop their research, publication, and presentation skills under mentorship from established faculty investigators. Responsibilities

This job responsibilities will depend on the qualifications and interests of the candidate, and they include (but are not restricted to):

•Meshing methods, algorithms, and software for producing finite element meshes from large anatomical images,

•New algorithms and software for analysis and visualization of high dimensional data for better understanding engineering design,

•New algorithms and methods for modeling, representing, and visualizing uncertain data relating to complex geometric objects.

Minimum Qualifications

We are seeking talented and committed individuals with demonstrated abilities to work well with minimal supervision in a multidisciplinary research environment. Backgrounds in the engineering sciences, applied mathematics, computational and/or computer science will be considered. Individuals comfortable with one or more of the following areas is preferred: computation geometry, image analysis, numerical simulation, data analytics/learning, visualization. Being self-motivated and having good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills is essential.
