Job Summary

The Division of Urology is looking for a full time physician assistant to join a team of providers in the Men’s Health Program. The physician assistant will have collaborative (together with MD) and independent clinics at multiple locations and provide care for patients with low testosterone, Peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, testicular pain, etc.

Responsibilities

- Conduct patient evaluations, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, formulating comprehensive care plans and documenting clinical encounters.

- During hours when the clinician is not actively seeing patients, the Physician Assistant will be involved in team-based patient care through provision of indirect care, care coordination with multiple providers, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants and other members of the team to form a high performing medical team

- Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications

Current licensure to practice as a Physician’s Assistant from the State of Utah. Certification inACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLSmay be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Utah State prescriptive privileges preferred.

To obtain licensure requires graduation from anARC-PA approved/accredited Physician Assistant program. Specialty experience preferred on a position by position basis.UHPPM1-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
