This position provides compassionate assistive care to VIP or international patients and their families in a highly professional and responsive manner. The incumbent works with patients to help them navigate our healthcare system and be a liaison between the patient and insurance provider, doctor, nurse or specialist. This position is responsible for delivering a consistently exceptional patient experience. The secondary focus is providing communication and administrative support to senior department personnel, including the business director of the CMO Office, and the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between patients, patients’ relatives, and the healthcare organization.

  • Arranges for patient appointments, transfers, and admissions in a timely manner as needed.

  • Acts as a liaison between the patient and hospital business offices, management, and the Chief Medical Officer.

  • Manages a patient satisfaction database.

  • Communicates patients’ questions, complaints, problems and concerns to appropriate staff members.

  • Explains policies and procedures to patients and refers them to the appropriate services.

  • May assist with completing required paperwork for prior approvals for appointments, transfer, or admissions.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.

  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.

  • Professional and discreet when handling sensitive patient information and situations.

  • Current knowledge of medical laws, rules and policies, such as Medicare, health insurance, and HIPPA.

  • Incumbents face exposure to potentially dangerous contaminated bodily fluids, blood, used needles and other contaminants as part of the daily hazards of the job.

  • Associate’s degree in a related area, or equivalency.

  • Four years of healthcare related experience.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
