Job Summary

University of Utah Health has an immediate part time Work Study position available in its Department of Marketing and Communications. The paid position is flexible and would allow a student the opportunity to be exposed to multiple areas of a MarCom office, and particularly learn from and work with a sports marketing professional approximately 20 hours per week.

For example, the student is responsible for assisting in the fulfillment of marketing initiatives and partnerships, with some focus on sports sponsorships including the Utah Jazz, University of Utah Utes, Salt Lake Bees, and Salt Lake City Stars.

At the core of the program is a series of work assignments that will provide candidates with an opportunity to contribute to U of U Health’s success while receiving unparalleled marketing experience. The position will be reviewed quarterly.


Primary –

Assist with tracking, management and fulfillment of partnership assets including on-site event activations, in-game promotions, arena/stadium graphics and broadcast features, which may require nights and weekends depending on student’s course schedule.

Secondary -

Assist with phone coverage, mail distribution and file maintenance as needed.

Liaise with service lines and departments across campus, as well as with external organizations and vendors.

Provide support with word processing, data entry and scheduling.

Work closely within the MarCom team and assist with other duties as assigned.

Willingness and ability to converse in public with event-goers

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required. One year full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
