Job Summary

Advanced Practice Clinician (PA/APRN), Emergency Medicine

Responsibilities

Provide urgent care to patients in the Emergency Department affiliated Urgent Care. Must be comfortable with laceration/abscess care, foreign body removal, minor fracture care, eye exams. Must be comfortable with ages infant to geriatric. Minimum of 1 year experience in urgent care and/or family medicine is preferred.

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner as required under State Law. Certification inACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLSmay be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of specialty area; and demonstrated leadership, teaching, research and communication skills are required.

Utah State prescriptive privileges preferred.

Licensure is obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.

Care is appropriate to the population served.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Prefer minimum of 1 year experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Prefer experience in family medicine or urgent care.DEAlicensure and Utah Controlled Substance licensure preferred.
