Job Summary

Position reports to the marketing director and is responsible for marketing Association memberships, alumni events, alumni travel, Alumni House rentals and managing other marketing projects as needed. Position will also be responsible for making sure that the tasks associated with the execution of the Association’s communication, public relations, and business development plans and programs are completed on schedule.

Responsibilities

Manages and coordinates Association membership program, marketing and development tasks, including the following tasks:

•Work with and oversee membership mailing vendor; represent sales and marketing of memberships at key alumni events

•Coordinate with outside sponsors, and internal clients requesting marketing tasks for events, fundraising and programs

•Manage marketing projects to ensure that tasks are completed on time, on schedule, on budget and within quality parameters

•Assist in the planning and coordination of print, broadcast and online communication, including coordinating direct mail drops and email blasts with our social media efforts

•Regularly scrutinize website, social pages and posts for needed content updates, errors and omissions

•Oversee and develop programs and premiums to promote Association membership, working directly with outside suppliers and our internal team

•Assist director of marketing in implementing the overall communication and brand strategy for the Alumni Association, and develop and produce campaigns to engage alumni with Association programming and fundraising efforts

•Develop and produce marketing materials to promote scholarship program via our U license plate program

•Implement and oversee market research and utilize this information to assist in the creation of alumni programs to meet alumni needs and encourage their participation in the Association’s membership program

•Develop and produce relevant reports, including member benefits usage, website user behavior, email test results, and Google Analytics on website and e-newsletter. Update membership app content. Other duties as assigned by director of marketing.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences

•Experience with direct mail and electronic marketing and communication

•Experience with strategizing, planning and implementing marketing campaigns

•Demonstrated knowledge of membership programs and market research

•Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills

•Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

•Outstanding people skills and experience collaborating and working with a team

•Working knowledge of computer software, including Word, Adobe CS and Excel.

•Alumnus/a of the University of Utah and/or experience on U of U campus.

•Three years’ experience marketing a non-profit entity.

•Graphic design skills and Google Analytics certification a plus.
