Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, oversees the procedural matters related to Research Education programs, events and services. Provides administrative support to departmental personnel.

Responsibilities

•Assists with coordination of procedural matters regarding the day-to day operations of research training and administrative projects.

•Manages and supervises events on-site and provides assistance to attendees, instructors, support staff and faculty members.

•Assists with planning, coordination and details for special programs including conferences, educational seminars, forums, receptions, social activities, etc.

•Assists in preparing program promotional flyers and materials

•Maintains, updates and revises program schedules and calendars as necessary.

•Prepares related reports and assists in evaluating program effectiveness and developing future programs and events.

•Maintains records, files, lists and a computer database on program details, participant information and certification requirements.

•Makes physical arrangements such as facility scheduling, catering, creating advertising materials, ordering event supplies and equipment, compiling course materials, etc.

•Participates in the preparation of accreditation reports and progress reviews with professional organizations.

•Serves as departmental liaison and collaborates with other University departments to coordinate web pages and to promote research training events.

•Responds to questions, emails, telephone calls, etc. and provides assistance to University staff members, faculty, post-doctoral scholars, graduate and undergraduate students.

•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Six years related experience or equivalency (1 year of college education is equivalent to 2 years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Bachelor’s degree in a related area is preferred.
