Job Summary

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a member of the Marketing and Communications Team in the Office of Admissions and reports to the Assistant Director for Admissions Marketing & Communications. This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Office of Admissions’ communication and marketing efforts, with a particular focus on writing and editing content for print, electronic and web communication channels. This position will also serve as a liaison to specific academic and student affairs departments and assist them with developing and executing their communication plans to prospective students. The position may also aid in maintaining the Office of Admissions website and basic graphic design projects.


1.Assists with the research and development of content for print, web, and electronic communications.

2.Meticulously edits/proofreads communications.

3.Assists in the development and execution of communication plans utilizing a multi-channel approach.

4.Collaborates with other campus partners (academic departments/colleges and student affairs units) to conceptualize, build, and implement communication plans and projects that meet the needs of the partners and is in alignment with Office of Admissions communication efforts.

5.Assists in testing and monitoring effectiveness of communication tactics and suggests adjustments to communication plans as necessary.

6.Makes edits on the web site as directed.

7.Produces newsletters, graphics, or other content as needed.

8.Develops and adheres to project timelines.

9.Ensures that distributed material is accurate and timely.

10.Assists with social media efforts.

11.Acts as a resource to office staff.

12.Assists with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related area, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). One year of related experience and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.

Experience in accounts payable and receivable; and knowledge in all phases of production, such as types of paper, typesetting, printing, design, direct mail, and advertising concepts may be preferred.

Exceptional writing skills with experience with copy writing and editing for multiple communication formats and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and find solutions to issues that may arise. Ability to communicate complex information to individuals and groups from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Excellent customer service, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make recommendations related to marketing and communication efforts. Experience with working withCRMsystems to deploy communications; employing social media for marketing purposes; maintaining websites; and utilizing the Adobe Suite of programs. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Possess a valid driver’s license at time of employment.
