Plans and implements activities of a program within a department, ensuring goals and objectives are in accordance with established criteria. Interprets program policies and advises program participants on the application of regulations.
1.Oversees daily departmental operations and coordinates departmental activities.
2.Develops and implements department goals and objectives.
3.Monitors department quality and effectiveness and researches continuous improvement methods.
4.Maintains Department Chair calendar, schedules appointments and arranges meetings.
5.Review and approves expenditures to ensures that budget goals are met.
6.Provides high quality customer service to assist the department faculty and staff with travel planning, reimbursements, campus orders, and payment requests, etc.
7.Coordinates departmental social events and other fundraising activities.
8.Advises staff, students and others regarding departmental policies, goals and related technical issues.
9.Assists the Chair with facultyRPTprocess, Career-line Reports and Faculty searches.
10.Prepares reports, financial statements and records on departmental status and progress for management and outside agencies.
11.Writes and edits departmental related publications and promotional or educational materials.
12.Prepares correspondence, including composing routine letters and memos.
13.Works with the Department, Deans Office and other College staff to improve processes related to hiring, purchasing, research and customer service.
14.Oversees others who schedule meetings, seminars and other departmental related functions.
15.Supervises, assigns, directs and reviews work-flow of the departmental support staff.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

University of Utah experience preferred but not required.
