Digitize film transparencies, books, and loose leaf material for use in online collections for the Marriott Library. This includes post-processing images, and compiling keyword search metadata.
Scan text, images, artwork, etc. using digital scanners and cameras. Import objects in image editing software, correct color and process images as required. Record technical, item, and structural metadata into a spreadsheet. Import items into CONTENTdm. Maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition. Exhibit the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Exhibit attention to detail.
One year of computer operations experience or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Previous customer service experience is preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Ability to operate a PC and Mac computers and scanners.
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PhotoShop.
Working knowledge of cameras.
Special Instructions Summary
Must be a current University of Utah student enrolled in 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours.
