Job Summary

The Division of Medical Genetics has an opening for a Clinical Study Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting in industry sponsored Clinical Trials with adults and children with rare genetic diseases. The Clinical Study Assistant will assist with the preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents; will order and maintain study supplies; will schedule and assist study visit, study sponsor visits, and basic patient care.


•Support administrative operations and coordination of human subjects research studies

•Explain and obtain informed consent, medical history and demographic information

•Document in source file and maintain with historical data, status reports, progress notes and subject log to help ensure subject safety.

•Report and track adverse events (AE).

•Document all protocol deviations, reconcile test article accountability at study close out and prepare summary report for sponsor

•Complete, audit and correct CRFs to sponsor. Maintain documents as required byFDAguidelines.

•Maintain contact withIRBand prepare and submitIRBdocuments

•Enter data into websites

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Completion ofHIPAAPrivacy & Security training may be required within two to five days of hire. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Knowledge of/willing to be trained in Good Clinical Practices,IATADGR, and blood borne pathogens.
