Full-time Position: Lecturer, Mathematics Department, University of Utah
The University of Utah Mathematics Department invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Mathematics. The academic level of the position (instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, full professor) will be the one appropriate for the academic formation and prior experience of the successful applicant.
All applicants must have at least a Masters degree in Mathematics, with some preference afforded to applicants with a PhD degree in the mathematical sciences. Furthermore, prior experience in teaching either secondary (preferred) or college mathematics, accompanied by letters of recommendation attesting to the merits of the applicant as an instructor, is also required of all applicants.
Duties of the position include teaching the Department’s lower division courses as well as the Department’s offerings for current and future teachers of mathematics at the elementary and secondary school levels. Scholarship in the areas of mathematics and/or mathematics education and Departmental service in appropriate capacities are also part of the expectations of the position.
