Job Summary

Professional Education is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Java during our short-term, intensive, daytime or evening web design classes. Our classes involve hands-on, in-depth, real-world applications of technology and are taught in our computer labs.

Responsibilities

Successful applicants will have experience working with and teaching the Java Programming language; they will specifically be able to teach the following topics:

•Java programming syntax

•JavaGUIprogramming

•Object-oriented programming

•Application flow control

•Java file I/O

•Java exceptions, arrays, arraylists, inheritance and polymorphism

•Applets

•Java interaction with databases

Candidates who are available to teach day classes are preferred, but not required. Our instructors are contracted to teach and are paid on a per class basis. Instructors may be responsible for creating their own course syllabus, practice exercises, and/or student handouts, utilizing department curriculum. Instructors may be contracted to teach multiple classes based on their stated availability and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualification/Preferences: The incumbent must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working withPHPANDat least 6 months teaching/training experience in a professional environment. Curriculum development experience highly desirable. Please specify on your resume the applications in which you are proficient and for which you wish to be considered.
