The University of Utah seeks a highly motivated, student-centered, and dedicated professional to serve as the Associate Director for Employer Engagement (ADEE). Reporting to the Director of Career Services, theADEEis responsible for leading the employer outreach and engagement efforts for the Department of Career Services. TheADEEsupervises a team of 4 full-time outreach and on-campus recruiting staff who are ultimately responsible for all employer-facing interactions between recruiters and students including, but not limited to, career fairs, on-campus interviewing, information sessions, employer site visits, employer panels, workshops, etc. TheADEEmust strategically lead the employer outreach efforts, balance incoming employer requests, cultivate new relationships and deepen existing relationships. Additional charge to grow partnerships with employers who have a strong commitment to diversity hiring initiatives as part of their mission. This position is responsible for providing leadership, training, support and guidance to members of the Career Services community including employers, staff, faculty, students and alumni.
•Supervises professional and student staff and is responsible for the strategic direction and daily operations of the employer outreach efforts of Career Services.
•Serves as part of the Career Services Executive and Leadership Teams
•Directs strategic and quantifiable employer outreach efforts for Career Services
•Oversees and administers the Career Services Employer Partnership Program including cultivation, fulfillment, tracking and retention of partner employers, particularly employers who have a strong commitment to diversity hiring initiatives
•Develops and sustains deep and reciprocal relationships with a variety of external stakeholders including, but not limited to, corporate leadership, HR professionals, university recruiting staff, alumni, etc.
•Develops and maintains collaborative and transparent working relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, Career Coaches, students, College/Department leadership, faculty, academic advising, University Development, Alumni Association, etc.
•Ensures the viability and employer/studentROIof recruiting events such as career fairs, panels and other events
•Develops, administers and revises as appropriate student recruiting policies and procedures consistent with University policy, professional best practices and federal/state laws
•Chairs and facilitates the appointment of our Employer Advisory Board members
•Serves as industry lead/liaison for 3-5 identified industry sectors
•Maintains accurate and complete employer interaction records and communicates to stakeholder groups
•Oversees communication with employers regarding student recruiting opportunities and best practices
•Provides consultation for employers with questions, and/or concerns regarding a variety of recruiting-related situations
•Develops, implements and analyzes assessment initiatives that foster recruitment and student success
•Prepares/oversees the preparation of departmental employer-facing publications, statistical and annual reports as it relates to student recruitment activities
•Represents Career Services and the University on campus-wide and divisional committees as well as to external organizations as appropriate.
•Serves as a member of the state-wideUACE(Utah Association of Colleges and Employers) Employer Relations group

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Higher Education, a related area, or equivalency required (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Six years of progressively more responsible management and/or recruiting experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Department Specific Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or related area.

•Working knowledge of on-campus recruiting processes and a foundational understanding of the current trends influencing recruitment of college students
•Ability to exercise independent judgment in a highly collaborative team environment while carrying out highly individualized work
•Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment
•Ability to handle difficult or urgent requests in a proficient manner. This includes the ability to maintain composure and decorum in face of resistance or disagreement
•Strong problem solving ability
•Proven and effective oral and written communication skills
•Supervisory, assessment, and fiscal management experience
•Ability to translate data and trends to stakeholders and into actionable strategies
•Familiarity with currentCSMsoftware (“Symplicity” is currently in use)
