New Position to Begin August 1, 2017
CAREER-LINEFACULTYPOSITION(non-tenure-track) in theMHAProgram at the Eccles School of Business of the University of Utah (eccles.utah.edu/). TheMHAProgram seeks to fill a career-line, non-tenure track, faculty position in healthcare administration starting August 2017. Successful candidates will hold a master’s degree in an appropriate area related to healthcare administration and have significant experience in healthcare administration.
Candidates with expertise in healthcare leadership, management, finance, accounting, operations, economics and/or data analytics are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students, and experience with online course delivery. Candidates with extensive and progressively more responsible practical work experience in healthcare will be preferred.
TheMHAProgram faculty include tenure track and non-tenure track as well as adjunct faculty. This group of scholars has high level healthcare administration and educational administration experience. Our faculty have earned prestigious awards in recognition of their exceptional teaching, outstanding service, and commitment to ethics. This group of faculty supports an active student association, a growing alumni association, a mentor program, and participation by student teams in multiple regional and national healthcare case competitions.
The Master of Healthcare Administration program has expanded its offerings to include a newMHAdegree and a Graduate Business Studies Certificate in Healthcare Administration to complement its current jointMHA/MBA,MHA/MPH, andMHA/MPAdegrees. The program is also planning expansion into an ExecutiveMHAprogram. To meet the needs of the expanding programs, the Eccles School is seeking a full-time faculty member to begin August 2017. Appointment to be made in the academic department most closely related to the candidate’s training and experience. Primary responsibilities will be teaching and mentoring in theMHAprograms and other program support as needed.
The Eccles School isAACSBaccredited and ranked as 54th in U.S. News and World Reports. TheMHAprogram, accredited byCAHME, is a young program with significant growth potential. TheMHAcurriculum is interdisciplinary and is supported by the School of Medicine, including the Departments of Population Health Sciences, BioInformatics, and the Division of Public Health. Courses offered by the College of Social and Behavioral Science and the College of Law are also included in theMHAcurricula.
The University of Utah Hospital and Clinics is a national leader among academic medical centers, having been in the Top Ten for seven consecutive years. A close relationship withUUHCprovides strong internship and career placement opportunities for students. Salt Lake City is a vibrant healthcare environment with organizations such as Intermountain Healthcare,IASIS,HCAMountain Star, and Veterans Administration Healthcare. Executives from these organizations contribute to theMHAprogram as adjunct faculty, guest lecturers, mentors, preceptors, and Community Advisory Board members.
